Welcome to Nutty Bird Studios.

I am a self trained artist who has begun a journey of artistic discovery since the 2020 lockdown. My art is evolving, and is squeezed into my spare time after my full time job as a teacher and mother, but always comes from a personal need to create, my love of life, nature and family. The world can be a wonderful place.

I hope in viewing my creations they give you as much joy as I had in making them.

Motherhood

This is one of my favourite works, titled 'Motherhood '. I have two beautiful boys (young men) who are my world, my joy and give me courage to keep on keeping on.

Our family, like many, has had its fair share of challenges. As a full time carer of my husband, mother and teacher, life has been very busy at times. This painting came from emotions I felt during one of those very chaotic times in my life when I felt I was doing it on my own, life was ruling me and not the other way around, but where the joy and love shown to me by my family inspired me to keep going and not give up.

I hope it touches a chord with you too.

The Studio Grapevine

Early beginnings of Nutty Bird Studios

When my kids were smaller my father built them a cubby house in our back yard. It contained a sandpit, slide down the hill and a playhouse area. Many happy years were spent there and the kids even camped there a few times. Now they are bigger and no longer use this space. My brother has miraculously turned it from a cubby house into my studio space. Follow the link to see how it all took shape.

 Cannot recommend this girl enough. Beautiful soul, art from the heart, talented beyond words. Her eye for detail. Obvious love of local flora and fauna. It’s a treat for the senses. Take a minute to spoil yourself and take a look. It will make you smile.
